Award Categories

Advocacy/Public Policy Award

Criteria: Awarded to public official or advocate for outstanding leadership in advancing one of HWTF’s public policy priorities and/or for their efforts in advancing issues related to preventive health in NC.

Community Catalyst Award

Criteria: Recognizes an individual or organization that has established an innovative community-based project and/or coalitions that have significantly improved the health and well-being of the citizens of a community or generally improved the status of community health and disease prevention in NC.

Innovator Award

Criteria: Awarded to an individual or organization that is recognized for designing and delivering a new and innovative approach to health care and disease prevention in NC.

Leadership in Obesity, Tobacco Use Prevention / Cessation or Health Disparities

Criteria: Individual recognized for pioneering work in raising awareness and/or providing direct services to NC communities related to obesity, tobacco use prevention / cessation or health disparities.
